Our Interns about their work:

Why I help with "Europe for Christ!"...

My name is Simona and I come from Slovakia. I graduated from law school in Bratislava 2 years ago. I am very thankful for the opportunity to work as an intern in the office of Europe 4 Christ! in Vienna. I used to make translations of the monthly newsletters for Europe for Christ! and kept in contact with the office in Vienna through internet. Then suddenly, it happened that I had couple months off work and I told myself why not use up this time to help out a little with the project directly from Vienna.

I consider Europe for Christ! a very good initiative, very practical and highly needed during this time. The idea of the initiative is very simple and direct: bring together people from the whole continent to pray for Christian Europe one short prayer a day and send out useful information on alarming topics concerning Europe to common people all over Europe, even outside the continent. It is important to remind people on the matters in Europe that are important and relate to all of us. Everybody has a lot to do; most of us have a time-consuming job, family, friends, and various other obligations. Many people and also many dedicated Christian people do not have time, although they would like to, for keeping track of where Europe today is standing, how the situation has advanced, what new issues Brussels and the state governments have brought up, etc. Europe for Christ! is here to do some of the job for the people; to research, identify and draw attention to alarming issues, harms and also progresses that have been made in Europe concerning the freedom of religion, natural rights conception, concept of family, etc. Europe for Christ! also reminds people that their voice, whether expressed by prayer, an email, or a letter to a politician counts and it is able to make a difference. Staying passive is the worst attitude we can have.

I am also excited to spend some time with such dedicated and godly people who really put their heart to the project and its aim. Simona

Why do we support "Europe4Christ"?

We are from Poland. When our country was about to enter the EU, many people were afraid that Poland would lose its identity in clash with the western culture – an attachment to the Catholic beliefs, a respect for traditional values.

From the perspective a time we realize that not only do we have such fears. Christians in all European countries fight for respect of their religious values. It’s about staying who we really are, respecting existing differences, and sharing the good and the beauty that we have – not destroying the fundamental values of Europe but building upon them.

It is impossible to be a Christian alienated from the real world – the community of faithful develops in normal, everyday conditions of life and it is here and now where we have to give a testimony. We want to remember what is important to us – to always support the life and the truth.

We are in Vienna so that “Europe for Christ!” could reach Warsaw. Not only Warsaw actually, but many different places in Poland, and so that people in our country would join to pray for Europe based on Christian values.

For this we pray and work! Kasia & Agnieszka

For me „Europe for Christ!“ is a sign hope for a Christian Europe and that encourages me. The Christian point of view on topics of society is rarely heard today. The majority keeps quiet when actually every Christian would expect a reaction. „Europe for Christ!“ is such a voice: it awakens the awareness for cultural and political problems from a Christian perspective and strenghtens the sense of responsibility of each one to work on a Christian society. This helps to break the vicious circle of silence. From this, the Christian roots of Europe can bring forth true freedom (of religion) and a loving cooperation orientated at the common good.

„Europe for Christ!“ encourages me to live my faith in society a more authentic way.

Anne, Germany

Why I work for a "Europe for Christ!":

I am Adriana from Barcelona, Spain, currently I’m in my last year of a Law degree and I’m 24 years old.

First of all I would like to express how thankful I am with Europe for Christ, for this chance to get involve in this project and try to spread this wonderful message into Spain. The team is so nice and kind!

A got an e-mail saying that a Christian intern from Spain was needed in order to help with the project. Afterwards I looked at the website up and I was delighted with the message. I was so disappointed when in the end it was ruled out to mention the Christians roots in the preamble of the European Constitution, it was something personal I can’t describe it, but I was sad. We were denying the obvious and real heritage of Europe. It was a matter of Christophobia. Everything   nowadays is against Christianity, in a subtle way they assert that we shouldn’t mix politics with religion but this is an evil assert. If we are Christians we should be coherent with our values and acts so we must have a voice in the public stage.

I’m catholic and I have the gift of the faith, and as a young girl I have realized how difficult is for us, the Christians, to be respected as anyone else and sometimes I have felt ashamed when I expressed my convictions, or because my deeds or whatever.. It seemed that for the mere fact of being catholic I hadn’t the right to talk, to express my opinion and I was hold in a very low regard by my colleagues. Nowadays even in Spain it’s really a difficult situation. Our history and legacy is mainly Christian, as is our culture. There is a ban to express Christian values in public places.

The government controls all the aspects of the citizen, further it is taking control of the private sphere of the man of the street. The government should promote and safe all the good initiatives and to fit in this reality of a great deal of Christians that must have a representation in the government as well as the others.

We live imbued in the culture of death and as the Pope Benedict XVI said the dictatorship relativism wants to reach and control all the phases… Europe has to come back to its identity, retrieving all its values and this is the only way that Europe will succeed and will be a place of happiness, respect, prosperity… Shall we lose the most precious that we have? Our culture, religion, values, art and most important, the soul of Europe? If we don’t have well defined our lines and priorities and values then little by little other cultures are going to conquer us, because it will be easy to destroy a civilization that lacks of culture, history and values.

I think that now we are like martyrs, we suffer the incomprehension, the loneliness, a silence martyrdom but we are not alone we are with God that leads us. We have to take delight in the love of God, God loves us so much!!

Since I have realized how much God love us, I understood that we need to tell everybody that He loves each one of us and that we should trust in him and explain to Him our dreams… He wants to hear our wishes. Why not a Christian Europe? We can do nothing but He can do it, we only have to trust entirely in him and ask him for that.

Dear friends, I encourage you to sign up as soon as possible in this challenging and beautiful project. You have just to pray a daily father for Europe for Christ! And if you are able to give a donation, it doesn’t mind the amount, as you can afford it.. This donation will go entirely to finance this project of Europe for Christ!, its diffusion, and the persons that dedicate all the time in taking up this amazing mission to get the Christians values strength back…  everything for a Europe for Christ! Warm greetings, Adriana

This is not only the hope for Europe, but also the hope for the world! By His mercy YAHWEH GOD has opened the whole Bible here in China.
